Under 70% humidity is essential for salt therapy, below 55% is ideal. With an air conditioning unit in the small side room, you can cost-effectively create low humidity air for highly effective salting.
This also keeps the salt away from the machine and the A/C unit which reduces and can reduce corrosion which happens when salt is near metal parts.
